Pet Sins May 2005 Issue
Inter-ethnic prejudice among Asians

The United States celebrates Asian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. Although numerous Asian ethnicities reside in the United States, many non-Asian Americans see Asians and Asian Americans as a single undifferentiated entity. There are those non-Asians who acknowledge and celebrate Asian diversity, but few have been bold enough to talk about the prejudices and hostilities that exist between different Asian ethnic groups in the US just as they exist in Asia.

In this issue, we take a brief look at the opinions members of different Asian groups have of each other. We do not endorse any opinion expressed in our webzine. Nor do we claim to provide comprehensive coverage of every Asian ethnic group in the United States. We only present these opinions with the goal of encouraging dialog and introspection.
