Many of us spend the larger part of our lives at work. If we are lucky, our professional environments are fulfulling, or at least neutral environments in which we can accomplish our tasks without encountering needless hostility or humiliation. But not everyone is so fortunate.
Daily life can become a stressful affair when discrimination exists in offices, financial institutions, and factories. Perhaps, if we can see how our casual words and unthinking behavior can directly or indirectly affect the quality of life of people around us, we can reconsider some of our actions. We can choose not to add to the burdens of those we encounter at work, and we may even have the chance to make a positive difference.
