Pet Sins January 2010 Issue
Contemporary Cultural Cross-Pollination Between People of Color in the Arts

We took a look at cross-cultural collaborations between non-European musicians in our May 2007 Issue, with a focus on the melding of traditional art forms such as Native American music and Japanese traditional music.

In our January 2008 Issue, we featured some international collaborations between pop and hip hop artists of color from the West and from East Asia, such as the one between Usher and Chemistry.

This issue's focus is on artistic endeavors by people of color who combine traditional non-European music from around the world with contemporary performing arts of the West (some of which, like reggae and jazz, were born of the African Diaspora in the Americas).
